Situated in some of Scotland's most stunning countryside with incredible walking trails, mountain biking and arguably the best salmon fishing in the world. With a walking trail alongside the River Spey only a short distance away, you can enjoy some great walks along the river if you need to work off some of the food and whisky or cycle it on one of the two bikes we keep that are fully accessible during your stay.
There are countless activities and gorgeous natural sights within walking and driving distance from the house including the famed 'Speyside Way', a 66-mile path transversing the beautiful Scottish countryside and following the river Spey from Aviemore at the edge of the Cairngorm Mountains to the seaside town of Buckie on the Moray Coast. If you are feeling even more adventurous check out The Spirit of the Spey who organise fantastic canoeing trips down the river which includes lunch and a few drams.
There are so many distilleries around us it is actually named the Malt Whisky Trail . Many offer both public and private tours to enhance your whisky knowledge and tickle your tastebuds. Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet and Aberlour distilleries, just to name a few, are right on the doorstep.
Further afield on the Moray Coast you can watch the fishing boats return to shore with their catch of local Haddock and sample the delights of one of Scotland's most famous dishes 'Cullen Skink'. We're lucky enough to have award winning S.A Mackie Butcher right on our doorstep in the quaint town of Aberlour just 2 miles away. There are lots of great wee local stores to explore in and around the area including the Spey Larder delicatessan in Aberlour, showcasing some great local produce and the Speyside Whisky Shop which stocks a wide range of Scottish Single Malts and Blends. Venture a little further afield to Grantown-On-Spey to the Speyside Centre or visit some of the cute local shops in the town centre, just a short 30 minute drive from the house.
We promise that your stay at 'CopperBroc' will be a holiday to remember and that you'll want to come back again and again to experience the delights that the Scottish Highlands has to offer!
